The 2016 Olynpics took place in Rio and were supposed to help the city solve some poverty problems and stimulate the economy. There were many problems with the installations and many were not even ready at the beginning of the Games.
Corruption, debt and tight deadlines all played a part in this chapter of Brazil’s history. These once famous buildings are now abandoned and have fallen victim to vandalism and nature’s unstoppable work.
